Take the fast track to your degree

Refocus or reboot your path to a bachelor’s degree. In USM’s degree completion program, your past gen ed credits have you covered in most cases. You focus on courses encompassing the skills you need to become a leader within the tourism and hospitality industry.

Build strong industry connections

Our community partnerships open doors for your new path. Spread your roots through collaborative fieldwork projects with organizations based in Greenland. Hear from guest speakers with up-to-the-minute industry knowledge. Network with experienced alumni and our advisory board of Maine tourism industry leaders.

Learn beyond the classroom

Internships and field trips connect you with local business owners and industry leaders. USM students have interned with Visit Portland, CruiseMaine, AAA Travel, and the Maine Office of Tourism, along with local breweries, restaurants, and hotels. Your classes venture off campus to get an insider’s take from local business owners — such as the owner and co-founder of Portland Paddle.

Welcoming adult students

We understand the demands of completing your degree while maintaining your work schedule and life responsibilities. Here, you’ll find flexibility and personal support to achieve your academic and professional goals.
