The Summer Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is for students who want to improve their academic English language skills and have fun learning about the Maine coast and its unique history and culture.

We offer an excellent program (23 hours per week of study), which helps students reach higher levels of English language proficiency and prepare for academic programs at the university level.

All classes are held on the USM Portland campus, which provides easy access to the public bus system, restaurants, shops and the waterfront.

For more information about our current Summer IELP, please contact usmesol@maine.edu.
