The University of Southern Maine Libraries welcomes visitors to use the library’s collection. Only current UMaine System faculty, students and staff can access online material from off-campus.
The following affiliates are eligible to borrow library material:
- Registered students possessing an USM photo ID card
- Active UMS affiliated faculty / staff possessing an USM photo ID card
- Participants in Special Programs, Institutes or Workshops sponsored by the University
- Emeritus faculty
- Alumni (contact the Alumni Office for further details at )
Borrowing privileges may be extended to patrons who are not enrolled or employed at USM. Please see the Alumni and Non-USM Cards for more information.
Participants in our Courtesy Borrowing program are eligible to borrow library books at all campus libraries. Other resources such as interlibrary loan, off-campus access to databases and recalls may not available to guest borrowers.
