Thank you for your interest in becoming a Peer Academic Coach at the Learning Commons. This online application will only take a few minutes to complete.
Peer Academic Coaches work with students 1:1 to explore how they are approaching their academic lives, and review a menu of options for becoming more effective and efficient. This entails strategies for note taking, reading actively, managing time, self-testing, and preparing for exams. Peer Academic Coaches also design and facilitate workshops on academic strategies both inside and outside of the classroom, and create "how to" resources that are student friendly.
Qualifications include: overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (which must be maintained); availability to participate in the tutor training program; availability to work at least four hours each week.
Once this form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Academic Support Program Specialist, Cristina Kerluke, to discuss the role in further detail.
