The BioIN biotechnology business incubator program at the University of Southern Maine (USM) provides companies with flexible access to state-of-the-art wet labs, collaborative research space, and resources to accelerate innovation. In close partnership with the Roux Institute BioPilot Lab, BioIN connects you with an ecosystem of scientists, students, and entrepreneurs.
Partnerships and Collaboration
BioIN tenants benefit from connections to the Roux Institute BioPILOT Lab (advanced biotech tools and discounted memberships), as well as USM’s Quality Control Collaboratory, Composites Engineering Research Lab, Maker Innovation Studio, and more. Collaborators also include faculty and student researchers across the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Computer Science.

$3,500 per six months (renewable up to two years)

For Students
USM is unique among incubators! We also offer an Undergraduate Concentration in Biotechnology through the Department of Biological Sciences. Students gain access to hands-on internships funded by the Maine Economic Improvement Fund.
