Daniel Hartill

Dan joined the Office of Public Affairs as a communications and media relations specialist following a 20-year career as an award-winning journalist with Maine newspapers.

As a reporter and feature writer, he worked on a wide variety of topics, from local government and the arts to religion, labor, and veterans issues. He earned numerous awards from the Maine Press Association and was a 2008 fellow with the National Endowment of the Arts’ Institute in Theater and Musical Theater at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism.

Dan earned his bachelor’s degree in English in 1994 from the University of Southern Maine. As a senior, he also served as the executive editor of the Free Press.
