The University of Southern Maine Foundation announced that it has received a $50,000 pledge from Norway Savings Bank, a leading mutual banking and financial services company headquartered in Norway, Maine.

This year, 14 teams from 12 Maine schools will compete for the “Maine Cube Cup,” an award given to the team that designs and builds a cubesat best meeting their mission objectives.
The opening celebration and ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25 in the Science Building on the University’s Portland Campus. Members of the media will have the opportunity to tour the space, see the simulation lab in action, and interview students and faculty on site.
The University of Southern Maine will celebrate its 143rd Commencement on Saturday, May 6th with nearly 1,000 graduates scheduled to participate. The event, scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, will feature comments from University President Jacqueline Edmondson, student speaker Nadine Bravo, and featured speaker Neil Genzlinger ‘77, a New York Times journalist and USM alumnus.
Regional Care Teams, a collaborative of the University of Southern Maine’s Catherine Cutler Institute, the Maine Department of Corrections (MDOC) and the Center for Youth Policy and Law at the University of Maine School of Law, released a report summarizing the progress of the its initiative over its second year of operation.
The project, Maine School Psychology: Collaborative Affiliations in Rural Education (Maine School Psychology CAREs), also aims to increase the number of credentialed school psychologists who reflect the diverse backgrounds of students within those communities.
