How to apply for campus housing:
The housing application deadline for Fall 2020/Spring 2021 academic year was July 1. We cannot guarantee housing for late applicants.
Although the housing application remains open, and new students may still apply, we will consider a number of factors for late application housing placements if we have open spaces, including: distance from campus and academic majors that need physical campus resources.
You must be a matriculated student at USM before you can access the housing portal. Please review our updates page, and thank you for your flexibility and patience.
Find the Fall 2020/Spring 2021 housing application/contract by going to your MyUSM portal (https://my.usm.maine.edu). Log in, look for the USM Quick Links on the left hand side of the screen in the list under all of the little square icons, and click on "Residential Life and Housing Portal". Make sure you choose USM Quick Links, and not UMS (University of Maine System) Quick Links. NOTE: Newly accepted students to USM will not see the USM Quick Links link until they have paid the Admission fee to matriculate, and then it takes at least 48 hours or more for the USM Quick Links to show up. If you run into any issues, contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a new admit, please pay the $75.00 housing fee the same day you complete the housing application. The housing deposit amount does not show up on your MaineStreet account as a bill to pay like other charges, so don't go looking for a $75.00 charge on your account to pay. You may mail a check or money order to USM Residential Life, 37 College Ave., Gorham, ME 04038 (please include student name and ID number), or pay your $75.00 housing deposit online. To do so, log in to MaineStreet and navigate to <Student Self Service - Student Center - Pay My Bill - View Bill/Payment Options - Access TouchNet Bill+Payment - Deposits - Select Term - Select Deposit Payment - USM Housing Deposit by CC (credit card) or Echeck, then finish following instructions.

Returning and international students are not required to pay the housing deposit up front, but may be charged for it depending on cancellation date.
Russell Scholars Program requires an additional application to the program. If you request this choice for your Living Learning Community on the housing application, please be sure to apply to the program, too!
Please contact the Disability Services Center at 207-780-4706 or email@example.com if you require disability-based housing accommodations. The earliest possible communication is particularly helpful in requests for specific room assignments or modifications. Information and detailed guidelines can be found at https://usm.maine.edu/dsc/residential-students.
If you haven't yet activated your UMS user account, which gives you access to MaineStreet, your e-mail, and Blackboard, go to http://accounts.maine.edu/ and click on "Activate your account". If you have trouble activating it, contact Technology Support Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-780-4029.
