Students interested in receiving federal student aid will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for each school year that they are admitted to the University of Southern Maine and wish to be considered for financial aid. As part of the calculation for financial aid, your dependent student may be selected for a process called verification. The verification forms are available to download and print.
Scholarships are a form of aid (free money) to help students invest in their future. The University of Southern Maine offers many scholarship choices for undergraduate, post baccalaureate and graduate students. See the full list of available scholarships.
Due to federal privacy regulations that do not allow student information to be shared without a student’s consent, dependent students must Authorize Access to Student Information to allow their financial aid information to be shared with parents.
Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Borrowers Loans are fixed rate loans provided by the US Department of Education to parents of dependent undergraduate students.
