Emeritus Faculty

Professor Emerita. Her areas of research and scholarship include strategic planning, public and nonprofit management, governance and nonprofit board development. She chaired the graduate program in Public Policy and Management, and served as the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs. 

Dr. Handman also served as the Graduate Dean of the University of Southern Maine and as the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. She was a recipient of the American Society for Public Administration Section on Personnel Administration and Labor Relations National Award for Service to the field as well as the American Society for Public Administration National Council Award for Service to the Profession of Public Administration.
