Important Information regarding study abroad availability for Fall 2025

Reciprocal slots are extremely limited and highly competitive for Fall 2025. We encourage you to also consider “Partner Schools” or Summer options. Most of our reciprocal schools will accept fee paying students if you have your heart set on a specific institution. Contact the International Office for a “fee paying budget” and information on possible scholarships.

Reciprocal slots are allocated on a first come first serve basis. The following schools currently have reciprocal slots for Fall 2025 (this list is subject to change so be sure to ask for an update from one of our study abroad advisors before beginning your study abroad application).

USM is also part of the University of the Arctic consortium, a network of universities in Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Finland, and more. There may be additional reciprocal opportunities available through this network, including scholarships. For more information, visit north2north program.

Partnership schools allow USM students to pay a discounted rate on tuition, which is determine by the school abroad. While there is not a reciprocal exchange occurring, this rate is often quite discounted than other institutions in the area.
